13.5 x 10.5” string-bound photo album with a black, textured cover. This album is packed with just under 400 black and white snapshots and photo postcards featuring extensive travel of one family, possibly a family from Czechoslovakia, which date from 1924 to 1929. Photographs measure between 2 x 2.25” and 8 x 5” and are held to the page by corner tabs. There are few annotations on the photos; those that are written on the pages identify the date and location, but not individuals pictured. Locations include Rochester, Niagara Falls, Cold Spring, Devils Hopyard, and East Haddam. There are also photo postcards from Montreal and a fascinating series of portraits of individuals in Blatná in the Czech Republic, as well as photographs from Praha (Prague). Travel photos include the natural scenery, an interesting camping set up which features tents and automobiles, as well as the ocean, and ships. While the individuals in the family photos are not identified, there are some familiar faces that span the album. Some interesting photos feature the construction of a bridge over the years, a coin counting machine, and a photograph of workers in a shop. Several of the pages are detached, a couple of photos are loose, and there appear to be at least seven photos missing. Otherwise, the album is completely filled. The photographer had a keen eye and evidently had a good camera, as the photographs have wonderful contrast.
