8" x 12" photo album with red felt covers with text in Russian, which translates to "Memories of my time in the GDR" (German Democratic Republic aka East Germany ). Inside there are over 50 photos pasted to the page. Most of the photos are of men in uniform, mainly at leisure. There is text on the last page that is some kind of order from the minister of such and such and talks about the Army and the Navy…. One page has writing in pencil, that a Russian friend of mine said were names.
The part of the album that I find fascinating, is there are 18 onion skin protective sheet with a hand-done black ink illustrations, between the pages. There is one of a gal that reminds me of Twiggy, a couple dancing, and of course there are tanks and men at war. Two of the pages have ink smudges, there are a couple of edge bends and a small tear or two. Many of the photos are faded. An usual artistic take of a military album.
