11.5” x 15” photo album from 1946 and 1947 with over 165 photos on 42 leaves with only one side of each page used, except for one page.

The album is annotated and shows spectacular views of the Mohave Desert, Sierra Nevada Mountains and other places in California and a couple from Las Vegas. It dates from the summer of 1946 until about February of the following year.

Most of the annotated are views of the desert and mountains and identifications include: Mohave desert, Sierra Nevada Mountains, Crater Lake, Mt. Whitney Portal, High Sierras at Olancha, lava deposits near Little Crater, Panamint Range, Devil’s Cornfield, Mushroom Rock, Death Valley, Golden Canyon, Natural Bridge, Furnace Creek Camp, Scotty’s Castle, Sierra Madre, San Bernardino, Boulder Club in Las Vegas, Santa Anita race track, San Juan Capistrano Mission, Indian Wells Valley rodeo at NOTS (the Naval Air Weapons Station in Inyokern, California).

It is not know who put the album together, but a few names mentioned include Kitty Henrich, Janice Henrich, Henry, Edith Churchill, etc.

Photos measures 3.5” x 5” and 3.75” x 4” and are held to the page with corner tabs. One photo is missing and several pages of the album are detached.

The photos are have good contrast and are just lovely.
