AVIATION - HOOD COLLEGE, MARYLAND PHOTO ALBUM 1935-1941

Item #908

1935-1941 photo album which measures 11.5" x 15.5" with 260 photo. Photos are attached with corner tabs and/or tape, with about 8 missing and 3 loose.

The album documents the Reynolds family. Inside the front cover is a large photo of David Reynolds and his dad by a Piper Cruiser plane. On the opposite page, is a photo of Campus Day at Hood College, with Margaret Reynolds. There are many photos of father and son flying and posing by airplanes, with some aerial shots as well. There are also many photos of Margaret at Hood College, though she graduated from the University of Maryland in 1940. There are some terrific photos of people in costume, boating pics, photos of the destruction of the ship "the City of Baltimore," a sequence of shots of the a building of a log cabin, Boy Scout photos, Chesapeake Bay, etc. Many of the photos have notes about the camera used in the photos and it appears that many of the photos were home developed. The father's name was Ed Reynolds and from one notation it seems that he was an Engineer. There are not photos of the mother and my guess is, is that Ed was a single dad.

The album is fully annotated and there are some great shots.

Price: $750.00
