HIPPIE YEARS - PEOPLE PARTYING 1970s PHOTO ALBUMS
Item #896
1st album, shiny black, imitation snakeskin:
Three-ring binder format, square rings. 43 leaves/86 pages, a few blank; 8 1/2” w x 11 1/2” h. 293 color photos, many 3/12” square, many 3 1/2” x 5 1/8”.
Dylan and Fleetwood Mac t-shirts are seen, plenty of LPs, thick mustaches, feathered hair, and cans of Coors, PBR, Bud. Whole lotta smokin’ goin’ on.
The subject of many of these photographs, a fellow in his early/mid-20s, utilized the album for family photos, holiday celebrations, trips to the beach, a day of fishing, and pictures of his cats. And partying. Lots of rowdy partying!
Album in decent square bound condition. Some wear at outer corners, some separating at spine corners. As the plastic covering has aged, and the pages browned at the edges, the adhesive quality of the album pages has weakened, loosening many of the photos on the ring edge; a few photos have come completely loose. Altogether, however, this is a fine, useful collectible and a tight artifact of a looser time.
2nd album, blue-green cloth with a couple of gold stripes:
Three-ring binder format, round rings. 48 leaves/96 pages, only the first fifteen leaves populated with photos; the remainder are blank.
55 color photos, all 4 1/4” x 3 3/8”; a few loosened from the page. These photos are printed on a cardboard stock, several millimeters thick, making it hard to keep them tucked under the plastic sheathing.
The cover has two embossed label stickers, white letters on green - very 70s. One says W. LUCAS, and another beneath it reads HIPPIE YEARS.
Clean and tight condition throughout, with both lower spine corners worn through.
The main dude here shows off his physique, his Mustang, frolics in the snow, hangs with his girl, his black cat, some ponies, his mom, and drinks a lotta beer.
Price: $250.00
