Item #891
Gorgeous wartime document of an older couple’s trip to various sites in Western and Central Florida, and the Carolinas
Pinellas County, Venice, Lido Beach in Sarasota, Hillsboro River State Park, Tarpon Springs, Silver Springs, Auburndale, Plant City, Indian Rocks, Redington Shores, Gulfport; Sunset Beach, N.C., Blackville Cemetery, S.C.
This couple clearly had an abiding interest in agriculture and botany - numerous farms, lush orchards, and botanical gardens visited (not well serviced by the b&w pictures, unfortunately, even though the photography itself is done well).
There is a two-page spread of a greyhound racetrack; numerous portraits of a fellow in uniform, possibly the son of the traveling couple; and one deckled ‘season’s greetings’ card from Colonel E.H. and Mildred Wagner
12 1/2” x 8 7/8” x 1 1/4”
162 photos, beautifully set; one photo missing. First two, last three pages - blank
Binding in very good condition - some scuffing, both covers - very little tearing or creasing on tan pages (8 1/2” x 12”).
Price: $300.00
