Chapter headings include: weight at birth; list of birth presents (respective to various aunts); Christening day; baby’s first ride, first tooth.

A pasted-in letter from “Your Papa” in 1909, on her 3rd birthday.

More than a dozen photos pasted in, a couple of them cyanotypes, three of them oval portraits, with 2 additional photos tucked in (one a sheet of individual portraits of little classmates); along with 3 locks of hair, 4 Valentine’s Day cards; various other ephemera (including a beautiful hand-painted card for her 4th birthday).

The Kents were clearly a well-to-do family, spending Christmases in Syracuse and visiting family in New Jersey, and placing a notice in the local paper about Marion’s 5th birthday, with twenty playmates. (“Each little guest received a pink ‘May basket’ with bon-bons”).
