A collections of twenty-three albumen photographs of various scenes, locations and buildings in late 19th century South Africa. They are various sizes from about 10 x 12 cm to about 16x22 cm. Conditions varies with some having some spotting, fading, creasing and tears. Two have tape repairs and a few have been trimmed. Only two photos are identified, "Warm Baths" and "Caledonien Mill." A few have brief captions or signs with the photo, including Berea, Market Square, Pretoria Hotel and the Globe Tavern, Barberton. One photo of a church had "C.F. Robertson, Photo Artist" stamped in purple on the back of the photo. Another photo is the original Barberton Stock Exchange. There are two photos mounted on board showing a woodland scene and a view of ships in the harbor with Table Rock rising behind. The mount is trimmed on one side of each of these photos. On the verso of the ship photos is part of a label for the Cape Town Photographic Gallery, Adderlen Chambers, Cape Town.
