7.25” x 11.25” photo album with over 130 photos, held to the page with corner tabs. Inside the front cover is a bookplate for William Hubbell Chamberlain. An internet search finds that he was born in Iowa around 1904 and this 1920s album, is mostly from Iowa, during his college days at the State University of Iowa.

Places identified include Anamosa, Wapsipinican State Park and country club, Anamosa District Fair, State quarries, Iowa State Fisheries, Maquoketa Caves, Bellview, Cascade flood, Turkey River Valley, Amana Colonies, Coralville Dam, Coralville Quarries, etc.

People identified include Eleanor Lamberton, Vivian Tourtellot, Harriet Tourtellot, Ilene Williamson, Hubert Evers, Harry Jones, Kelly Ortman, Lawrence Sahs, etc.

Photos show “B.C.” (Bill Chamberlain) having fun with friends and family, and images include a few photos from the play “Torch Bearers,” put on in 1923 while at school, hiking with friends, Engineer’s parades, freshman party at S.U.I in 1923, golfing, etc.

Most of the album is annotated and one photo is missing from the page with a few extra loose photos that were never attached. There is also one detached page, otherwise, the album is in good condition. A lovely look at Iowa in the early to mid 1920s from an Iowan native.
