8.25” x 11.25” photo album with about 100 photos, including 23 unattached photos which show Gunnison County, Colorado in the late 1910s.
Most of the photos in the album are annotated, and it is dated 1917 below a few of the pics. Places identified included Cottonhurst Ranch, Gunnison River, Gunnison Station, Taylor River, Taylor Canyon, Crested Butte, Emerald Lake, Mill Creek, Gothic Roundup with cowboys (Gothic is now a ghost town), Almont and Spring Creek Canyon. Names include Olive Schreier, Mr. and Mrs. Crooks.
The photos all measure 3.25” x 5.25” and the ones in the album are pasted to the page. About half of the album is filled and nothing has been removed. Street scenes, ranch life and scenery are beautifully photographed in this lovely album.
