SAILING TRIP FROM U.S. TO CANADA FOR 1908 QUEBEC TERCENTENARY PHOTO ALBUM
Item #768
1908 trip that appears to be from onboard a sailing ship that left from Philadelphia to Canada and back down into upstate New York. Some shots are shore lines, other ships and street views of visits. Each of the sixty 3.5" x 5.5" photos are identified on the page and include: Delaware River, Philadelphia, Boston, Fire Island, Block Island, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, St Lawrence, Quebec, Lake George, Albany, etc. It seems that Quebec and the Tercentenary may have been their destination, with a photo of the Prince of Wales and Lord Roberts in a military display. Some other identified photos include Perce's Cove, US and British battleships, a building in Quebec lit up with early electric string lights, etc. The album measures 5.25" x 7.5." Both covers are missing, and the first page, which says "1908," is detached.
