8.25 x 5.75” black album containing around 180 black-and-white photos from 1909 and 1910. Most of the photos are of family, friends, children, and travel in the Missouri area, especially Kirksville, La Plata, and the Clapp Farm, with some trips made to parts of Pennsylvania. Among the more notable photographs are ones from fraternities and sororities, namely ΙΤΣ (Iota Tau Sigma), and the unfortunately abbreviated ΚΚΚ (Kappa Kappa Kappa). One page shows double portraits of members of Iota Tau Sigma, with the men posing normally in one, and nearly all of them dressed in blackface in the other. Later there is a photo of the group in prison outfits. The women of Kappa Kappa Kappa are shown enjoying each other’s company and, in one photo, standing around a trophy. There are also photos from the Firemen’s Convention. Other than these, many of the photos are of women spending time together, or photos of the Station House, Boiler House, and other locations. Photos measure between 2 x 2” and 4.75 x 6.75” and are glued to the pages; some photos are annotated with names or locations, but not all.
