11 x 8” brown suede string-bound album with a painted image of the Strathaird ocean liner on the cover, along with palm trees, clouds, and the ocean. On the inside cover there is a travel schedule and a map of the route from 1935. Contains around 144 black and white photos measuring between 2.25 x 2.25” and 6.25 x 4.5” which are pasted into the album and accompanied by incredibly neat handwritten captions. This trip took passengers to Ceuta, Malta, Alexandria, Cairo, Port Said, Rhodes, Athens, Palermo, and Corunna. For the most part the photos are of notable landmarks, especially gardens. There are gorgeous photos of the Pyramid of Giza as seen from the Mena House Hotel in Cairo, the Sphinx, the Step pyramid of Djoser in Sakkara, the Acropolis of Athens, and the Parthenon. The album ends with group photos on the ship and in the various places the group has visited.
