There are over 100 pieces of art in this 10” x 14” green burlap portfolio, which belonged to Charlotte Whiting of Plymouth, Massachusetts. The dates are from the mid 1930s and there are pencil sketches, drawings and watercolor paintings. Sizes range from smallish 3” x 5” to larger artworks measuring around 12” x 18,” which have been folded. It appears that these are from art class in High School, with some drawings related to events at school, and some of the pieces have been graded. A handful of items are rather amateurish, while others are much more masterful. Some pieces have been folded or have corners that are dog eared or have minor tears. She was obviously influenced but popular culture of the time, and I felt like I was in a 1930s movie while looking through this.
