NEW HAMPSHIRE GAR (CIVIL WAR VETERANS) PHOTO LOT
Item #541
Lot of ten large, mounted photos from a New Hampshire member of the Grand Army of the Republic showing portrait and ceremonial events. Also included is a GAR flag post. A rough breakdown includes:
Four 18” x 22 Photos with back marks crediting the photos to C.A. Lawrence & son Photographers, Lawrence, MA. They show men on horse at a camp, with a cannon and a group picture.
Two portraits of the same man. One measures 14” x 17” and shows him as a younger man in uniform. The second photo measures 12.5” x 15” and shows him as an older man. A close up of his badge in the older portrait shows a sharpshooter badge with the dates 1894/1895.
Three photos measure 8” x 10 and show the same man in a uniform outside of a tent with a “State of NH” sign, a camp and men in uniform on horseback.
One 10” x 12” photo shows four men in uniform seated outside of a tent with a dog.
None of the photos are identified and they seem that they come from different events, with the larger photos looking to be on the earlier side. One photo has a chip to the mount and a few have some spotting to the image, though nothing terrible. An interesting lot of photos that deserve some more research.
Price: $1,350.00
