Item #532

7.25’ x 11.25 photo album from 1915-1920 showing trips to Colorado, California and Michigan. Written on the first page is ‘Rocky Mt’n Nat’l Park(Estes Park) Col., 1920.” The album is divided into other sections, which are not in date order, including “California trip to San Francisco, "1915 Exposition,” “1916 Cruise to Sault St. Marie from Camp Hayo-Went-Ha,” and “Scenes around the Ranch.” There are a total of 115 snapshots inside, on average measuring about 3” x 4.” Many photos are identified on the page and include Copeland Lodge, The Keyhole, Thunder Lake, Lochvale, Bear Lake, Grand Canyon, train station in New Mexico, an Indian oven, San Diego, Indian pueblo, San Diego Exposition, Mackinack Island, etc. The photos are crisp and the photographer had a good eye, and one page has some creatively cut out photos, and another photo of a mountain scene, is artistically cut as well. On the inside cover there is a more recent sticker which says ‘Return to Al Connable.” There are also a couple of notes in the same hand slipped in amongst the pages. This album came with a few others, which belonged to the Malcomson family that was from Detroit Michigan. Two photos are missing, about a third of the album is unused and the first page is detached. A lovely album, with beautiful images.
