1918 ROANOKE VA FIRE DEPARTMENT PANORAMIC PHOTO

Item #531

8’x 31.5” panoramic photo credited to Parker Cahill Studio, Roanoke, VA, which is captioned “Decoration Day M.W.A. 1918, Roanoke, VA.” The image shows a Fire Department in their uniforms holding axes and ceremonial swords.

Written on the verso is “J.B. Weeks, 4th from left.” The photos has some staining and old repaired tears on the back, as you can see in the scans.

I did a search to see if I could figure out what MWA meant in Roanoke, and came up with a few articles about the 1918 flu epidemic being bad there.

Price: $195.00
