6.75 x 8.5” notebook with a brownish paper covers on which is written “John Reiner, Class 4-2-2, Miss Pflurger.” The cover is worn and slightly stained, with bent corners and some tearing at the spine. The notebook contains John’s writing and drawing assignments from 1944. John lived in New York City, and several drawings feature places from there including the Washington Arch, Holland Tunnel, Hayden Planetarium, Empire State Building, etc. His writing is in cursive and some of the text is accompany these drawings. Other subjects include elephants, snakes, crocodiles, bridges, the New York skyline, and police weapons. There are also vocabulary lists at the back. The notebook has around 80 pages and about 50 have been used.
