ONE MAN. DIFFERENT COSTUMES. SEVERAL YEARS. c. 1950 PHOTO ALBUM

Item #446

Greetings! On offer is a strange little photo album which shows one man is dressed in different costumes over several years. There are sixty-six photos in total, 33 attached to the page in this 7” x 10” complete photo album, with another 30 loose photos. Sizes go from about 2.5” x 3.5” to 5” x 7.” In some of the photos, he has strange facial hair, others show him in casts and slings and another show him dressed as a pirate with what I believe is a tattoo chest sleeve. In a couple of pics, there is a straight man side-kick shown, and there are several more costumes shown in this grouping of photos that date from the mid 1940s to the mid 1950s. Written on the back of two of the photos is “Tony, April ’47,” and one says “Anthony Tom Lucas, 12/10/49.” Was he an actor showing his different skills, or was he just a fella who liked to dress up? He kind of reminds me of Ed Norton, the character played by Art Carney in The Honeymooners, and/or Popeye. I love the strange and this is certainly an odd one!

Price: $1,000.00
