1900. Item #379
9.5” x 12” photo album with a total of 140 images, including 100 cyanotypes glued to the page, with another 40 loose photos, including cyanotypes and silver prints. This album was likely put together by a woman, and the dates range from 1899-1901. Written on the cover in faded ink is “My youth, M.C.B.” There is also a love letter in the album addressed to Kate L. Conklin from Emmet. The photos measure 3 3/4 x 3 3/8 inches (9.5 x 8.6 cm.), and smaller, some with handwritten captions that tell of her travels to Yellowstone, California, the Columbia River, Chicago, Niagara Falls, etc. There are also photos of family and friends during typical activities, including tennis. Twenty-three pages are used with the second half of the album empty. The photos are attached to both sides of the page and those pages are detached from the album. A lovely vision in blue.
