A wonderfully detailed scrapbook/photo album, which was put together by Fritz Mann (Freda Mann, married to George Mann). They took a Mediterranean cruise, which included stops in: Madeira, Morocco, Rabat, natives of Sale, Gibraltar, Cannes, Genoa, Naples, Pompeii, Amalfi Drive, Palermo, Libya, Tripoli, Syria, Baalbek, Palestine, Egypt, Rhodes, Romania, Constantinople, Athens, Parthenon, Yugoslavia, Venice, Rome, Capri, Tripoli, etc.
There are over 400 photos in this 10.5” x 13.5” scrapbook, which includes over 200 original photos and 200 commercial photos and postcards. The original snapshots have often funny and informative handwritten captions, that show local life and fun times. Besides the photos, there are six menus with cover illustrations by Nicouline, another 13 menus with beautiful covers, two passenger lists from the Roma, cruise sheet activity lists and other ephemera. Both covers are missing, and it appears that a page or two might be missing as well, along with one photo.
This is a wonderfully creative scrapbook, put together with interesting detail at a time right before World War II.
