A fascinating collection of over 60 photobooth strips of a man in 1962-1964. He wrote on the back of many of these photos, and it appears that he worked in in midtown Manhattan. He wrote often about his weight, which ranged from the 160s to the 190s, what he ate, photos he took outside of the photobooth machine and other things in his life. A camera appears in two of these photo strips and most of the photos show him looking different ways. Some of the writing includes:
6/1/63 – Can feel fat around wrist when I walk…...Weight 168 after light dinner. Less fat after vigorous walk. Took Kodachrome shots on terrace after walk.
6/7/62 – After walk, 161 lbs. Picture on bottom is unnaturally stiff. Produce slight double chin.
5/21/63 – 165 bare. Back on cigs. Having fight with Chef. Planning on long range war. Hope to get him in trouble with Board of Health by Fall……..Took pics Empire Sta. Bldg.
10/15/62 – Today I took pics of street fight. Wearing plaid suit….Fight occurred about 3 in afternoon. Cops were in some of the pics. 164 lbs.
12/29/62 – 165 lbs. Took pics 35mm asa 400 of Acme bldg, 34th and 8th. Also, bum and singers on top of Lawrence of Arabia sign.
6/16/63 – 166 in morning, 170 after dinner and 3 cans of beer. Had shoot out with mechanical gun …. in amusement place and scored 1 hit in three. Colt pistol is easier than I thought.
2/23/64 – 190 lbs after dinner. Very cold day. Pic taken IND subway underpass, 42nd St and 8th Ave. I went underground to escape cold weather on the way from S. west side to where Love’s drug store. Plenty of beer and no exercise.

4/13/63 – 165 lbs before dinner, 168 after…...Off cigarettes about a week and a half. Saved over $400

Monday morning. Warm, had a cold all day. Last night I polished off a 6 pack and slept in living room. Weather much better. Met Frank, old time keeper, and had interesting conversation.

In total, there are 59 strips of three photos measuring 2” x 7.5, two strips of four photos measuring 1.5”x 7.75,” 4 strips of two photos measuring 2” x 5.25” and two single photobooth images measuring 2.25.”.
