JOHN F. KENNEDY 1961 PRESIDENTIAL INAUGURATION INVITATION, PROGRAM, TICKET & PORTRAITS

A group of official ephemera from the January 20, 1961 inauguration of President John F. Kennedy and Vice President Lyndon B. Johnson. The group includes a 7 × 10½-inch congressional envelope, numbered 248 and designated “House Steps”; an engraved inauguration invitation; a green admission ticket to the House Wing Steps on the East Front of the Capitol; and a five-page, ribbon-bound Inauguration Ceremonies Program, measuring 6¼ × 9 inches.
Also included is a 6½ × 9¾-inch booklet containing printed portraits of Kennedy and Johnson, each accompanied by a facsimile signature. The original envelope bears a faint contemporary pencil inscription reading “Kennedy Inauguration 1961” and shows handling wear, creasing, and light soiling. The contents appear generally well preserved, with minor age and handling wear.
