Vintage Bauer & Black promotional medical booklet titled “What Every Man Should Know About Suspensories,” issued by the Research Laboratories of Bauer & Black, Division of The Kendall Company, Chicago. Copyright 1951.

The booklet explains the value of a suspensory/supporter for protection, strain relief, and athletic or everyday wear, and includes illustrated product examples for several Bauer & Black styles, including PAL, PEP, No. 31, PAR, PRO, SWIMMER, and No. 5. The rear cover advertises other Bauer & Black elastic goods including elastic stockings, tensor bandages, anklets, knee caps, and Bracer/Bracer Royal.

Measures about 3.5" x 6" and contains 16 pages including covers. Light age toning and general handling wear, with minor edge and corner wear. Stapled binding intact. A nice mid-century piece of men’s health, medical advertising, surgical support, drugstore, athletic supporter, and undergarment-related ephemera.
