Item #1516
Compiled by 12-year-old Mark C. Nolan in the wake of the Dodgers’ 1959 championship. Oversize scrapbook (approx. 10” × 12.5”), 21 leaves/42 pp. of news clippings—players, box scores, features—mostly glued or stapled in; ~16 clippings loose. On the inside front cover Nolan lists World Series winners (1959–65). Page one features AP photo of reliever Larry Sherry (“The Potent Mr. Larry Sherry”), with the pencil note: “Dodgers win series 4–2 games.” (The Dodgers beat the White Sox; Sherry was WS MVP.)
Los Angeles Times
Coverage continues through 1960–61, with a spread on the Pirates–Yankees Series and notes such as “Pirates won the series 4-3.” Headline clippings include “Richardson Joins ‘Greats’ As Yanks Slug Bucs, 10-0,” “Blanchard Blasts 2…,” and “Mantle: Still Got Chance to Crack Babe’s Record.” Players represented across teams include Mickey Mantle, Willie Mays, Luis Aparicio, Sandy Koufax, Gil Hodges, Bill Mazeroski (whose walk-off decided the 1960 Series), Tito Francona, Bob Purkey, Dick Groat (1960 NL MVP), and others.

Condition: newsprint toned and fragile as usual; scattered edge-chips; a number of pieces loose; staples lightly rusty; album boards and binding sound—good overall for a working fan scrapbook. A lively snapshot of teenage fandom in early-LA-Dodgers era.
