An American history buff traveled the Northern states to sites of significant events including those associated with Union Army victory during the Civil War. There are forty-two 3.25" x 4.75" photographs in this collection that highlight monuments in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia and Maryland which honor the Union Army as well as pay homage to technological and industrial advancement.
Statues and placards celebrate soldiers and infantry in the Union Army such as John Burns, known as “the Hero of Gettysburg”. Also, pictures of placards celebrate abolitionist John Brown; Colonel George Claghorn, Naval Constructor of the USS Constitution and officer in the American Revolutionary War; as well as a plaque which commemorates the new lighting system used to illuminate Niagara Falls.
