Six mounted photographs of cave paintings, location unknown, likely Africa. The study and measurement of these paintings are recorded. Three of the five images are close-ups of cave paintings, one of the three shows a ruler held up to the record.

The two remaining photographs display people contemplating the paintings. One image is of two white archeologist-types responsible for measuring and documenting this prehistoric system of symbols. Also in this photograph are four young children, ogling at the writing on the wall. One image is of one woman archeologist, pictured alone while writing something in her notebook.

The photographs are mounted on thicker card stock that measures 11” x 8 1/4”. One photograph measures 7 7/8” x 6 3/8” while all the rest measure 7 7/8” x 5 1/4”. Written on verso of each mount reads: “Marshall 2-13-63”
