Eighty photographs document various aspects of life in Peru between the years 1918-1937. Across 28 leaves/52 pages in this 12 1/2” x 9 1/8” album, there are wedding photographs, family portraits, portraits of children, as well as group club photos of the Club “Internacional Revólver” and the “Lawn-tennis de la Exposición” at Bellavista, likely associated with the medical school by the same name. There are several group photographs of the medical staff and students at Hospital de “San Juan de Dios” - Bellavista.

One image of medical students (provided with their full names) are pictured with a cadaver in 1918. This dissection is presented within the first 5 leaves. Most students are focused diligently on the cadaver while one student stares directly at the camera.

Photographs of Club “Internacional Revólver” often depict men at the dinner table, or seated for a portrait. The photographs regarding the tennis club are also formal. All photographs are staged, and many exhibit a group compact or otherwise display a formal event such as a wedding.

Photographs vary in size 2 1/4” x 2 3/4” to 9 1/2” x 7”, most are large. Images are held to the page with glue and colorful corner tabs. Writing on recto of many images identify people, places, and context. Pages are brown. The album is bound with rope and the the covers are pink cloth. Edge wear visible on covers.
