SORORITY SISTERS SIGMA SIGMA SIGMA 1938-1940 PHOTO ALBUM

Item #1028

7 1/2” x 6” album of 17 leaves/28 pages. 47 photos. The cork board cover says “Fotos” (the “s” is damaged”). The book is bound with the use of two eyelets and cloth.

The majority of snapshots in this photo album are portraits of singular sorority sisters. Each photograph is diligently provided with the name of the woman pictured, their role and nickname (if applicable). Some women are holding books, or kitchen condiments, or a little black dog.

The portraits were made during the academic year 1938-1939. On the last few pages are photographs of the sisters celebrating “Founder’s Day”, 1940.

The title page reads: EEE [“Sigma”] 1938-1939. One page says “PREP”. A list of “camera shy” sisters names their absence in this album.

The portraits of the sisters measure: 2 3/4” x 4 1/2”. While the Founder’s Day pictures measure: 2 3/8” x 1 11/16”

All photos are held to the black black corner tabs. Two photos are missing from the page and in one, another smaller photo has been substituted in its place. The corners of the cork board covers are worn and the back cover is detached.

Price: $200.00
